About the Norfolk Lions Club

Lions Clubs International (LCI) was founded in 1917 and is the world largest service club organization with 1.4 million members in 48,000 clubs in 210 countries and geographical areas. Lions clubs are recognized for their service to the blind and visually impaired, and efforts towards diabetes awareness.

The Norfolk Lions Club was started in 1921 and is the oldest and largest civic organization in Norfolk and is part of LCI’s growing service community. With approximately 85 members in all occupations, our club comes together and shares a common interest in community service, supporting the Lions motto “We Serve.”

We raise funds by means of fundraisers and raffles including our annual Pancake Feed Fundraiser, Golf Tournament, and Football (NU) Ticket Raffle to name a few. We sponsor many local events including the annual youth fishing derby, Lions Parade and big wheel races while, for some events, providing service kiosks for hearing and vision testing.

We currently meet at the VFW #1644, 316 W. Braasch Ave in Norfolk, NE, at 6:00 PM on the first four Wednesday’s of each month. A very special home-cooked-style meal is prepared by First Choice Catering and Party Rental and available self-serve at each meeting, billed monthly. Drinks including water, soda, and alcohol beverages (bottled and mixed), are also available. With mealtime at 6:30 PM, our business meeting starts promptly at the ring of the bell at 7:00 PM and are typically done around 8:00 PM.
